FaceMePorFavor is a free artistic platform that develops portraiture as a tool to celebrate difference, nurture community, and share stories with the goal of connecting residents to each other. Their goal is to celebrate and promote the stories and communities that structure each city. Face Me For Favor is about bridging connections with the various locations and areas of different cities and uniting them around a common these: the human experience. For the TEDx Youth Wrigleyville event, an impressive mural installation was created featuring portraits of speakers, performers and curators.

Emcee Wreckshop

Young Chicago Authors exposes young people to hip-hop realist portraiture and teaches them how to create their own authentic narratives through a variety of arts education programs both in and out of the classroom. These programs include free Education Partnerships for qualifying Chicago schools, free weekly writing workshops and open mics for young poets, journalists, and emcees, and Louder Than A Bomb, the largest youth poetry slam in the country.
As a YCA program, Emcee Wreckshop brings together rappers from all over the city. Sessions begin with a workshop taught by local rappers Add-2 and Defcee, in which students study an exemplary work, write new material, and finally, exchange pens for microphones, taking to YCA’s stage in a performative cypher.

Crooks Crew

Crooks crew is an american dance crew originating from Chicago, IL. Founded in 2009 Crooks crew has traveled, competed, and won many dance competitions around the United States. Not only do they compete but perform as well. Crooks member’s have performed with such Celebrities as Chance The Rapper and Common.
